Welcome to LIM

The Lincoln Independent Jewish Minyan (LIM) is a small Jewish community in Lincoln, England, that was founded in January 2011. It meets once a month on either Erev Shabbat or Shabbat morning. It also meets for all major festivals. The community is fully egalitarian and follows a mainly traditional service format using a mix of Hebrew and English. LIM uses the Siddur Eit Ratzon, published by Joseph Rosenstein, found at www.newsiddur.org. The community meets in the small hall of St George’s Church, Swallowbeck, Lincoln, www.stgeorgeslincoln.org.uk by kind permission of Revd Canon Ian Silk.

LIM is blessed with owning its own Torah scroll following a very generous donation by the York Jewish community.

LIM is very proud to be a Lincoln Jewish Community. Since the expulsion of Jews in the medieval period, Jews in Lincoln have been very few in number. In the last 20 years there is now a synagogue in Lincoln, a Jewish community in Lincoln and Lincoln Jews have regained a place in the social and spiritual fabric of local society.
